Taleon Imperial Hotel
Taleon Imperial Hotel is the only luxury hotel in St. Petersburg located in the historical palace of the XVIII century. It is a member of the Leading Hotels of the World Association and Virtuoso. The hotel is located at the beginning of Nevsky Avenue, near the State Hermitage, the Admiralty and St. Isaac's Cathedral. Today the hotel offers to its visitors 120 rooms of various categories. The present-day hotel building is situated in the place, where Elizabeth Petrovna's Winter Palace was located in the XVIII century. That was the very place where the brilliant balls and receptions of that epoch were held. After dismantling of this building because of its decay, one decided to save part of the kitchen constructions and a big throne-hall. Subsequently this throne-hall was transferred to the French sculptor E-M.Falconet for the creation of a monument to Peter I (A famous «Bronze Horseman»). Here the final project was created and the initial casting processes took place.
