The latest freeze-up of the Neva river

20 January, Tuesday

January 20, 1952 is the date of the abnormally late freeze-up of the Neva river

The same happened in the winter of 2007–2008, when the winter was anomalously warm. Usually the ice on the Neva freezes up late in autumn, around November 25 – December 5.
