Exhibition “Leningrad — Sevastopol — Crimea — Russia”

The exhibition of works by folk artist of Ukraine, laureate of the State prize of the Republic of Crimea Yacov Basov (1914-2004)

Yakov Basov studied in the Studio of academician of painting N.S.Samokish in Simferopol, and then continued his education at the Academy of arts in Leningrad in the studios of famous artists N.Naumov, D.Kardovsky and V.Shuhaeva.

The exposition demonstrates the main stages of the life and work of the artist. The exhibition presents paintings 1940-1960-ies, among which the “Crimean spring” (1951), The Vineyards above the Alupka (1957), Wind from the sea (1955), and watercolors 1970s and 1980s — The Old Sevastopol (1968), The Sea of Chersonesos (1973), Gardens blossom (1975), Early spring on the sea (1987) and others.

The exposition reflects the main stages of the life and work of the artist. Today the artist's works  is represented in the collections of 42 museums in Russia, CIS and far abroad.
