Paintings dedicated to the Russian history, as well as portraits of famous actors and ballet dancers are displayed in the St Michael’s Castle
Georgy Shishkin's exhibition unites his basis art cycles: "The Russian dreams" which has been shown in the nineties at exhibitions in Paris Cannes, Monaco, etc., a number of works dedicated to the Russian history, as well as portraits of famous actors and ballet dancers among which there is Jean Maher, Gerard Depardieu, Inna Churikova, Milorad Mishkovich, etc. has brought to the artist popularity, pictures about the Russian ballet of S. Diaghilev.
Shishkin’s heroes originality is concluded in the aspiration to embody their sensitivity and a subtlety of inner world. Thanking the picturesque technique Shishkin has an opportunity to paint a pastel pictures of a big format, and by means of glazes to imprint ease and emotionality of plots of the world of the ballet.
Today Shishkin lives and works in Monaco, Paris, participates in charitable projects. The exhibition in the Russian Museum is a return of the artist to Russia.
The exposition in halls of the St Michael’s Castle includes more than 50 works of painting and a number of works from private collections.
