Establishing the first Cadet Corps

On February 28, 1732 the Empress Anna Ioannovna approved the plan of the Cadet Corps, developed by Russia's field marshal Burkhard von Münnich

Cadet Corps was a full-time and full-board military school for young boys. In addition to formal education the students of the Cadet Corps went through combat training and had a military uniform. The facility mainly admitted the children of higher-class society.
