In the mansion’s comfortable and intimate atmosphere, the audience will be able to enjoy virtuoso performance by the gifted young German pianist Daniel Lebhardt in close proximity. Apart from winning prominent awards, Daniel’s gift has been appreciated by European music lovers and global concert agencies, which strive to gain an opportunity to work together with the talented young pianist.
Simone Zanchini, an accordion virtuoso and an idol of St. Petersburg’s audience, will add a vigorous Italian note to this concert. The expressive and virtuoso performer is famous across the world as a master of improvisation. However, his performing manner is not the only thing that Zanchini’s audience admires. Instruments made by Italian craftsmen in accordance with his design areastonishingaswell. For instance, Zanchini owns the world’s only wooden accordion.
This evening the guests will enjoy a brilliant string duet. Honoured Artists of Russia Sergei Slovachevsky (cello) and Maria Safariants (violin) will perform a baroque masterpiece – famous Passacaglia by Handel.
The Style of Five ensemble will introduce brand-new opportunities of Russian folk instruments to the audience this evening. Unique arrangements, skilful integration of electronic musical instruments, virtuoso performance — all these factors have brought fame to the Style of Five not only in Russia, but also all over the world. The ensemble will perform with Simone Zanchini for the first time.
The fabulous musical programme will be performed within the walls of the renewed A.P. Bryullov Mansion. The mansion’s history is inextricably interwoven with the history of Russia and its heroes. Pavel Chichagov, the first Minister of the Navy of the Russian Empire, was one of the first owners of the house. The Minister of Navy Nikolay Krabbe, who reformed and modernised the Russian navy, lived here once. Krabbe is also notable for patronising the young composer N. Rimsky-Korsakov. The mansion was named in honour of the famous architect Alexander Bryullov, author of the projects such as Pulkovo Astronomical Observatory, Mikhailovsky Theatre and Lutheran Church on Nevsky Prospect.
