On April 22, 1814 the greatest fireworks show in the history of the city was given

The firework of 324 volleys was given in celebration of a peace treaty with France. Saint Petersburg was the capital of the Russian Empire at the time, and the emperor decided to mark the victory over Napoleon — the end of a period of battles and defeats — and restoring the justice.
