Alexander Kutuzov was appointed military governor of St. Petersburg

On June 30, 1801 года Alexander Kutuzov replaced count Peter von der Pahlen (one of the leaders of the assassination of Paul I) on the post of the military governor of Saint Petersburg

Alexander Suvorov served as the military governor untill his retirement approximately one year later. Among the changes made by the new governor is transferring the barracks of Konnogvardeysky regiment from the Tavrichesky Palace to the previous location on the Konnogvardeysky street, and a number of measures against vagabondage and gambling.
