The exhibition is aimed at displaying miniature works of pottery and porcelain as a special kind of Japanese arts and crafts, as well as at introducing these works in the broader context of Japanese national culture in connection with the tea traditions and their philosophical, historical and cultural identity. The State Hermitage collection of Japanese miniature teapots is one of the largest in the world.
All items are exhibited for the first time.
