The “Christmas Star” Fire Festival is a famous show which celebrates Russian Orthodox Christmas following the earliest tradition set by Peter the Great, the first Emperor of Russia and the founder of St. Petersburg.

Live stream will be available here, on Visit Petersburg website, at 8 p.m.

On January 7, the annual firework display will illuminate the sky over the city of St. Petersburg. The spectators will enjoy fascinating shows performed by fire, light theaters, and 3D graphic designers who transform iconic city landmarks into canvases by drawing modern pieces of art on its facades.

This year, the Fire Festival takes place at various venues simultaneously and will be live streamed on vk.com and facebook.com so that everyone can visit multiple locations of the festival at once and take a closer look at every single detail from the best view point without leaving their homes. Those who had to postpone their travel because of the pandemic will now get a chance to witness the mesmerizing spectacle by joining the broadcast, celebrate Russian Christmas, and get an amazing experience along with the festival participants and the audience all over the world.

The most spectacular part – the firework competition – will be held between the teams from Belarus, Kazakhstan and Russia. International professional jury members from Bulgaria, China, Germany, Malta, Spain and Slovakia will evaluate the participants’ skills online. Besides that, the spectators themselves can vote for the best performance on vk.com and facebook.com.
