On February 23 and 24, the Okkervil Park will host a large-scale military holiday for the whole family. Petersburgers and guests of the city will witness the famous battles of the past at the festival "Combat Steel".
On the first day will be shown the feat of Alexander Matrosov which closed with his breast an embrasure of Nazi bunker in the Battle of Pskov on February 27, 1943. He sacrificed his life to allow to his comrades continue the attack. The next day, visitors will witness reconstruction of the first engagement of The Workers' and Peasants' Red Army. Military equipment of the time, artillery and cavalry will be used in this reconstruction.
And of course the exhibition of battle tanks from first to the most modern designs. Guests will be able not only to admire the steel machines but also to ride on it and even to shoot from cannons.
The festival will go from 12 to 17 o'clock. Okkervil Park is located near to the metro station "Dybenko".
