New museum with airbus to open in St. Petersburg
27 April 2018
The Aviation Museum will be located in the former training aeronautical park in the Moskovsky District.
A copy of the Sikorsky S-16 fighter, which is currently being assembled, will become a main exhibit of the museum. In total, there are only 15 such aircraft in the world, so the design of its copy forced the museum staff to collect information from a variety of sources.
The museum creators plans also include making a life-sized dirigible. Gostitsitsa Aerodrome, whose design engineers share their developments, provides assistance to the museum.
The new Aviation Museum will probably begin to receive its first visitors in May.
