St. Petersburg Hosts Cineposium in September

29 August 2019

From September 13 to 16, 2019, the Cineposium of Association of Film Commissioners International is held in St. Petersburg for the first time. The leading world producers, directors, actors and other representatives of the film industry will attend the unique event.

The Cineposium is an annual global professional forum for a thorough discussion of the film content production, creative industries development, film commissions activities, film tourism development, as well as new forms of interaction with the audience.

St. Petersburg won the right to hold such an important event in 2018. In previous years, the forum was hosted by the USA, United Kingdom, South Korea, New Zealand, France and other world production centres with the participation of major studios. The Cineposium runs concurrently the UN World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) General Assembly, which is the major global event with over 1,000 attendees from 158 countries. The film tourism will be one of the main topics of the Cineposium, and the UNWTO Secretary-General Zurab Pololikashvili and the head of the Federal Tourism Agency Zarina Doguzova will address the audience.

The business forum of Association of Film Commissioners International will bring together film, television and media market leaders from all around the world on one site. The forum will be attended by the leaders of HBO, Universal, Sony PlayStation Productions, Blumhouse, Ukie, producers of the films “Mad Max: Fury Road”, “Planet of the Apes”, “Fountain”, “Angels and Demons”, “Star Wars” and 20 more key speakers from the USA, Europe and Asia. As part of the panel discussions, various topics of the film industry will be discussed.

The venue of the Cineposium is the conference hotel "Corinthia St. Petersburg" on Nevsky Prospect, 57. More information about the Cineposium can be found on the official website of the event, as well as on the official website of the International Association of Film Commissions.
