The Torches of Rostral Columns will be Lit Up on May 9

Military aircrafts will fly over the city on Victory Day.
According to the Press service of the Governor of St. Petersburg, most of the festive events of the 75th anniversary of the Victory will be held online. All of them will be broadcast on the Internet.
On this day, lights will be lit on the Rostral columns. At 10 a.m. planes and helicopters of military aviation will fly over the city. At 7 p.m. a minute of silence will be announced in memory of the fallen in the Great Patriotic War. Then, Petersburg citizens will be able to join the All-Russian campaign "Immortal Regiment", which will also be held in an online format this year.
Festive concert “Music of Victory. We dedicate it to you, Leningrad-Petersburg” will be broadcast on the website of the TV channel “St. Petersburg” and on the accounts of St. Petersburg Committee for Culture in social networks at 7 p.m.
At 10 p.m. the first salvo of a festive artillery salute from the 76-mm gun ZIS-3 of the 1942 model will be given by a veteran of the Great Patriotic War. Further salvos named after the fallen defenders of Leningrad will be fired by artillerymen of the Western Military District.
It has also been reported, that fireworks are not planned.
