Lilac bushes appeared on Bolsheokhtinsky Prospect for the Victory Day

On Thursday, May 7, 75 groups of lilac shrubs were planted along Bolsheokhtinsky Prospect as a symbol of the 75th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War.
There are in total 525 white and violet lilac shrubs planted on the street along the buildings 4, 6, 10 and 14. The area of new plantings amounts to 300 square meters.
Within the framework of the project held in Saint Petersburg entitled the ‘Memory Garden’, planting works are carried out in 25 different sites of the city. It is expected that planting of 825 trees and 1525 lilac shrubs will have been finished by the end of this day.
There are over 6.000 trees and 80.000 shrubs planted in Saint Petersburg during the springtime. Planting of more than 600 thousand biennial plants had been completed by May 7 as part of decorations for 75th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War.
