50 million people have watched the broadcasts of the Mariinsky Theatre

During the seven weeks since the start of online shows, more than 50, 5 million viewers have watched the concerts and performances of the Mariinsky Theatre.
Over this time, the theatre conducted 65 broadcasts, which included both repertoire classics and unique concert projects, most of which were conducted by the artistic director and general director of the theatre Valery Gergiev.
To date, users from 87 countries around the world have joined the Mariinsky Theatre with online platforms. The largest percentage is viewers from Russia: St. Petersburg, Moscow, Perm, Yekaterinburg and Nizhny Novgorod. Broadcasts are also popular in Japan, the USA, Ukraine, the Republic of Korea and Germany.
High audience interest is caused by classical compositions. The ballet «Giselle» by Adan collected more than 1, 2 million views, the ballet «Romeo and Juliet» by Prokofiev - more than a million. At the request of the audience, Tchaikovsky ballet «Sleeping Beauty» and his opera «Eugene Onegin» were broadcast twice, each piece collected more than two million views in total.
