Gunners will give a cannon volley in honor of the City's Birthday

27 May 2020

Today, at 20 o’clock, 30 single artillery volleys of 12 cannons will be fired at the walls of the Peter and Paul's Fortress.

According to the press service of the Western Military District (ZVO), 85-mm D-44 divisional guns are used for salvos. Each shot will be dedicated to outstanding residents of the Northern capital, the most important historical events and feats of the inhabitants of Leningrad.

By the way, this year the holiday in honor of the City Day will be held without a traditional salute due to the pandemic of coronavirus.
