29 May 2020
The airport will be located in Levashovo and, according to preliminary estimates, will be half the size of Pulkovo.
It is reported that to date the construction project is being corrected by specialists, therefore, it limits assessing the timing of final completion and commissioning of a new object. However, the commencement of works, according to Vladimir Belyakov, general director of JSC Lengazspetsstroy, will take place this year.
Two administrative buildings are planned to be built at the new airport; the length of the existing runway is planned to be increased. In total, the project has about 100 technical facilities. Also, a monument to the Tu-134 aircraft will be installed on the territory of the new airport terminal.
