Rospotrebnadzor has removed restrictions on excursions to museums
25 August 2020
On 24 August due to the stabilization of the epidemiological situation and the gradual removal of quarantine measures, Rospotrebnadzor lifted the bans on the reception of tourist groups and on the implementation of agreements with tourist companies.
Amendments were made to the methodical recommendations of Rospotrebnadzor МР 3.1/2.1.0194-20 dating from 10 June 2020. According to the new recommendations, tour operators and travel agencies can include visits to museums, museum preserves, palace and park museums in their tourist products, subject to the necessary safety rules.
"We are confident that the removal of restrictions will allow to increase tourist flows to regions with great cultural and educational potential, especially in the off-season. Autumn is a good time for cultural recreation. Excursions to museum complexes, palaces and galleries are especially popular among families with children. The relaxation of the recommendations allows tourists to rediscover culture and history of our country. At the same time, it will help museums to become fully operational and recover from the crisis, and tour operators - to form full-fledged attractive offers all over the country," said Zarina Doguzova, Head of the Federal Agency for Tourism.
"This decision is particularly important for Saint Petersburg, where cultural tourism is the basis for tourism development. Within the SPB Travel Hub concept, our city is a starting and finishing point for a large number of “museum routes of Russia” developed by the Ministry of Сulture. Therefore, we came up with relevant proposals, we were looking forward to this decision and are glad that it has been adopted!", – commented Sergey Korneev, Chairman of Saint Petersburg Committee for Tourism Development.
