The concert opens the XXVIII season of the "Palaces of St. Petersburg" Festival.

The best voices of the Mariinsky Theater and the Mariinsky Academy of Young Singers will perform the immortal creations of the Shakespearean in music - Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, fragments of the opera by Charles Gouno - an outstanding example of French lyric opera, beautiful and piercing arias and duets from the opera by Vincenzo Bellini, as well as an aria Romeo from the once highly acclaimed by the public and critics, but rarely performed today opera of Riccardo Zandonai.
Ballet stars, one of the most beautiful ballet couples on the Russian stage, Marat Shamiunov and Irina Perren, will describe the history of Veronese lovers in a dance drawing. The audience will enjoy the delicate watercolors of the choreography to the music of Tchaikovsky, passionate bright shades of Prokofiev's music.
