It will arrive on the night from 7th to 8th of December.

The main New Year's tree of St. Petersburg will arrive in the very center of the city soon - on the night from 7th to 8th of December. This is reported by the newspaper «Petersburgskii Dnevnik» with a reference to the government of St. Petersburg.

According to the publication, preparations for the transportation of the New Year's tree will begin early in the morning on the 7th of December. The whole process of transporting the tree will take a whole day. Only by 17:00 the car with a fir tree will go from the village of Khittolovo in the Vsevolozhsky District of the Leningrad Region towards the city.

Until 1 am on December 8, the tree will stay in the parking lot, after that by 2 am it will be delivered to the Palace Square. Then its lifting and installation will begin. Until the morning, experts will be engaged in adjusting the crown of the tree.

Earlier, we reported that the height of the St. Petersburg New Year’s tree will be about 25 meters, and it will be placed as part of a decorative composition from a group of live fir trees with photo zones and mailboxes for letters to Ded Moroz. It is planned to decorate the tree in a retro style, evoking associations with the 50-60s in the USSR.
