The Most Ladylike Program: “We See a Triumph of Humble Graces…”

From March 6 to 8, the Gatchina Palace and Estate Museum will present a costume program dedicated to beautiful ladies.

Poets composed verses about their beauty, artists captured their images in canvases, and sculptors preserved them in stone forever. And what were they like, women of the past? Strict and noble, dressed in tight, narrow corsets ladies of the times of Paul I and fragile maids of honor of the Pushkin era.

Visitors will be greeted by Empress Mariya Fyodorovna (wife of Paul the First), as well as ladies-in-waiting and maids of honor of different eras. Guests will know all about Court etiquette, intricate outfits and hairstyle and learn how to properly prepare blush, whitewash, lip-softening lipstick called "Delight of the Harem", why cologne is especially useful for brunettes and how to achieve whiteness of shoulders and neck, what is the secret of making perfume " Empress's Bouquet ”and many other secrets of female beauty.

Participation fee: for contractual travel agencies 1500 per group + entrance tickets. For everyone else: 2100 per group + entrance tickets. The groups are 5 people so far.

Duration 1 hour 10 minutes.

The interval between the two parts of the double group is 5-7 minutes.

Groups are accepted from 10.00 to 11.30 on March 6, 7 and 8, 2021.
