The Siege of Leningrad victims’ memory has been honoured in Piskaryovskoye Memorial Cemetery

Today a solemn ceremony dedicated to the 77thanniversary of the total liberation of Leningrad from the Nazisiege took place in Piskaryovskoye Memorial Cemetery.
Wreath sand flowers were laid to Motherland Monument by Governor of Saint Petersburg Alexander Beglov, President of RF’s deputy in Northwestern Federal District Alexander Gutsan, members of Saint Petersburg Government, Chair of Legislative Assembly Vyacheslav Makarov and deputies of the Assembly, members of Leningrad Oblast Government and deputies of Legislative Assembly of the Oblast, representatives of CIS Interparliamentary Assembly, judges of Constitutional Court, command of Western Military District, Chief Command of Navy of RF, deputies of Gosduma, judges of Statutory Court of Saint Petersburg, members of Civic Chamber of Saint Petersburg and also representatives of organisations of veterans and the Siege of Leningrad survivors organisations,non-governmental associations, clergy and diplomatic corps.
As reported by the Government press-service, mourning ceremonies took place today in Serafimovskoye Cemetery, on Victory Square, near Triumphal Arch of Victory in Krasnoye Selo, in Smolnenskoye Memorial Cemetery and other places related to the history of the Siege of Leningrad.
To commemorate the 77thanniversary of Leningrad’s victory, a midday cannon shot was performed in Peter and Paul Fortress. The torches on Rostral Columns are being lit. Festive fireworks are to take place at 9 p.m.
The traditional concertin BKZ Oktyabrskiy is to be broadcasted on Saint Petersburg TV-channel and websites.
