In the fall of 2021, a skatepark and a pump track will appear in St. Petersburg

In 2018, Elizaveta Chelnokova and Mikhail Sazonov offered to equip a site under the overpass for those engaged cycling, skateboarding and roller skating. The sites in the city do not meet the standards, in bad condition, in places where it is difficult to reach.
Therefore, Elizaveta and Mikhail proposed to create an open, safe cycling and roller ring track “pump track” for riding and training amateurs and professionals on bicycles, roller skates, skateboards, scooters and a modern street skatepark.
The territory under the Kolomyazhsky overpass is suitable for such a site: it is within transport accessibility, but at the same time far from residential buildings, so that athletes will not disturb anyone. The site is all-season, because the overpass is like “roof” and will shelter athletes from rain and snow.
Remind that pump track and skatepark project was ready in December 2019. Work on the creation of the first all-season city skatepark and the first asphalt pump track under the Kolomyazhsky overpass in the Primorsky district of St. Petersburg has already begun. The cost of project is 29.5 million rubles.Part of the funds came from the city budget, the initiative “Your Budget”, the other part from the Finance Committee of St. Petersburg, the program “Comfortable urban environment”.
