Snowdrifts will grow up to half a meter in St. Petersburg

After a long period of relatively dry weather in St. Petersburg, a period of cyclone influence begins. There will be a lot of precipitation over the weekend.

"The passage of atmospheric fronts through our regions in three days will be accompanied by heavy snowfalls, which will take place with interruptions. At night and in the first half of the day on February 21 and 22, then from the 23rd to the 24th, precipitation will go in the form of heavy snow, " - the ministry said in a statement.

As noted, the height of the snow cover in St. Petersburg reaches 20 cm. By the beginning of the next working week, it is expected to increase to 50 cm. The amount of snow in this period had reached this point before only in 2010 and 2011.
