Sergey Korneev, the chairman of the Committee for Tourism Development, spoke about it in an interview with the Gorod+ newspaper.

The head of the organization noted that tourists are attracted not only by iconic show places, but also by creative public spaces. In addition, Russians are actively using the cashback program. It lets Russian tourists get back up to 20% of the money spent on housing and tours in Saint Petersburg.

The city has developed its own epidemiological safety standards in the hospitality industry, which are recognized on the international level. Russian tourists stayed in Saint Petersburg hotels for an average of 4-5 days previous year. This number is higher than it was in earlier years. Both organized tourism and independent travels to the Northern capital are popular among guests from Russian region.
