«This exhibition is about poetry, jewelry, mysticism of jewelry... This exhibition is full of this, which is also organized in an extraordinary way. I am very grateful for the idea to gather things from the historical Cartier collection and the masterpieces of the Hermitage jewelry collection together here. The Cartier House turns 90 years this year and we have been working for five years on our brilliant project, Cartier’s participation in the restoration of items from the State Hermitage's jewelry gallery», says Mikhail Piotrovsky, General Director of the Hermitage.
Guests of the exhibition will be able to see 35 jewelry adornments from the Cartier's historic collection. They were selected according to the same style and material.
The list of the exhibits will include a jewelry box of Jadwiga Jagiellonka, a 10 century crystal lamp created by Arab craftsmen and the field marshal baton of Alexander II. The exhibition will be open until April 18.
