On the night of March 10th, St. Petersburg broke the temperature record set on this day 50 years ago. Mikhail Leus, the “Phobos” center meteorologist, reportedthis on his Facebookpage.
“The recorded minimum in St. Petersburgwas -20.3 degrees;such frosts haven’t beenregistered in the Northern Capitalover the past 50 years”, - notedthe specialist.
The residents of the Leningrad region suffered even lower temperatures. The coldest weather was to be found in Lodeynoye Pole, where thermometers showed -36 degrees centigrade.
