The ceremonial halls of the palace have been transformed. Paintings, artificial marble, gilding, stucco molding, bronze decor of the front doors have been restored to their original state. The interiors of the study of Alexander I with a marble fireplace and many other rooms have been faithfully recreated.
This major restoration project has been going on for the last 20 years. From 2016 to 2020, more than 280 million rubles from the city budget were allocated to it. In the palace, in addition to updating the external decor, utilities and fire alarms were refurbished.
The park and palace ensemble of Yelagin Island is a listed monument of federal importance, the first independent work of Carl Rossi. In 2022, Yelaginoostrovsky Palace celebrates 200 th anniversary. By this date, the Music Pavilion will have been restored.
