Projections of paintings from Russian museum will be used to decorate houses

30 March 2021

A projection of the painting called “Fantasy” by outstanding Russian artist Kuzma Petrov-Vodkin is going to emerge on a wall of a house on 8th line of the Vasilievsky Island soon.

The general public will not be able to distinguish this painting from “Bathing of the Red Horse”, a more famous work by the same artist. However, “Fantasy” is a later rethinking of this plot.

Projections of paintings by popular artists previously emerged on a firewall on Kuznechny lane and on a house on Moskovsky Prospekt. Alexei Moor, chief artist of Saint Petersburg, says this action will involve 15 buildings in general.

Aside from masterpieces from Russian museum, residents and guests of the city will be able to enjoy paintings by contemporary artists presented by the Institute of Studies of Street Art.

The precise date when the projection of the “Fantasy” painting is going to emerge on a house on 8th line of the Vasilievsky Island is unknown yet. As reported by the Committee for Urban Planning and Architecture, it will happen as soon as possible.
