"Silver Necklace of Russia goes to the new step. The project includes nature, history, culture, folk and national traditions. Plays a significant role in the modern cultural and event life of the developing macro region. At the moment, a joint working group of the executive bodies of state power representatives in the field of tourism from all 11 regions of the North-West and leading industry experts under the auspices of the Office of the Plenipotentiary Representative of the President of the Russian Federation in the North-West Federal District has been formed. There is a roadmap with a plan for further actions. Popularization of the project is important. An active dialogue is underway with Rostourism, the Association of Mass Media of the North-West (ASMI), the main regional publications, industry associations and the country media community."
The practice of press tours for bloggers and journalists "Silver Express 2.0" will be resumed to strengthen the image of the "Silver Necklace" as a set of interesting tourist routes in Russia.
"Our goal is to create a steady demand for the routes of the "Silver Necklace of Russia. We want to add new meaning. When tourist visited St. Petersburg, there are nearby Veliky Novgorod and Pskov for visiting also. You can go to Karelia, and then to other Arctic regions of the Russian north," notes Korneev.
"Silver Necklace of Russia" is a tourism project consisting of chain of routes crossing ancient Russian cities with unique historical and cultural heritage of Northwest Russia across 11 regions of the Russian Federation. It covers the territories of Leningrad, Arkhangelsk, Vologda, Kaliningrad, Murmansk, Pskov, Novgorod regions, St. Petersburg, the Republic of Karelia and the Komi Republic, Nenets Autonomous Okrug. At the First Tourism Congress of the Northern Regions in March in the Komi Republic it was decided to restart the project. Promotion and popularization of the project, according to the chairman of the committee, will be the task of the regions in the near future.
