The Committee for Culture of St. Petersburg told that the concert "Classics at the Palace square" in 2021 will bring together in St. Petersburg the stars of the world stage, whose names are at the top of the world's best theater bills. For the first time, sopranos Angel Blue and Pretty Yende, tenors Charles Castronovo and Joseph Calleja, bass-baritone Erwin Schrott, and mezzo-soprano Anna Goryacheva will perform at one gala concert.
The audience will also see the D.D. Shostakovich St. Petersburg State Academic Symphony Orchestra and the SoGlasiye Youth Choir on that day.
Traditionally, St. Petersburg vocalists and young rising stars take part in the concert "Classics at the Palace square". That evening, soloists of the Mariinsky Academy of Young Opera Singers, as well as the Mikhailovsky Theater and the Zazerkalye Theater will take the stage.
Every year "Classics" presents original performances by the best choreographic groups of Russia. In 2021, the project participants are the Leonid Yakobson Ballet Theater, Alla Dukhova’s TODES Theater of Dance, the Moscow Music Hall, the Vera team (Tyumen), the six-time world dance champion in the European program among ensembles, as well as the Duet sport dance club (Perm), world champion in dance sport among ensembles in the Latin American program.
It is emphasized, that the entrance to the Palace Square will be organized with free electronic tickets, which can be obtained on the website classicgala.ru. This format was coordinated with Rospotrebnadzor in order to minimize the risks of the coronavirus spreading. One person can receive up to 4 e-tickets for himself, family and friends. The Palace square will host 15 thousand spectators on that day.
