Among the speakers were representatives of the St. Petersburg Committee for Tourism Development, the State Committee on Tourism of the Republic of Tatarstan, the City Tourist Information Bureau of St. Petersburg. Possible prospects were discussed at the round table. Presentations of tourism potential of both regions were made and the tourism products were offered. The result of the meeting was the signing of an agreement between the regions. The parties secured commitments on cooperation in the field of tourism, on the development of the industry. As well as on providing favorable conditions for increasing the tourist flow to both regions, promoting tourism products, key cultural, entertainment services, and increasing the awareness of travelers about them. The agreement regulates the interaction of committees in matters of domestic tourism, priority routes, experience exchange and staffing the industry.
St. Petersburg and the Republic of Tatarstan, within the framework of cooperation in the field of tourism, have developed a common excursion route “Palaces and Mosques” in 2018. The program of the tour covers a period of one week: stay in St. Petersburg lasts 4 days, in Kazan – 3 days. The interregional project reflects the historical heritage and features of the regions, contributes to the development of domestic tourism in Russia. In October 2019, in the office of City Tourist Information Bureau of St. Petersburg a presentation of the possibilities of the Republic of Tatarstan, a round table “Development of interregional communications to form and create new and priority types of tourism” took place, when representatives of tour operators from St. Petersburg and Tatarstan noted the available air communication between the regions.
Finally, a cooperation agreement was signed between the Medical Tourism Agency and Permanent Representative Office of the Republic of Tatarstan in St. Petersburg and Leningrad Region. The second cooperation agreement was signed by the “Favorit” group of companies and the Permanent Representative Office of the Republic of Tatarstan in St. Petersburg and Leningrad Region.
