30 August 2021

A new rental service of external batteries for charging mobile devices will appear in the city on the Neva in early autumn.

"Charge yourself with St. Petersburg!" sharing service is launching at the City Tourist Information Bureau, an institution subordinate to the Committee for the Development of Tourism of St. Petersburg. The project The project is being implemented on the initiative of “Zaryad!” LLC, which kindly provided the equipment, and does not require the use of budgetary funds.

A dead battery can cause a world of trouble, especially for tourists. While in a foreign city, it is important not to lose contact with loved ones, to be able to pay for purchases and not to interrupt an excursion or a walk due to a sudden loss of mobile service. Thanks to the cooperation of the Bureau with the "Beri Zaryad!" (literally “Take charge!”) company, travellers and locals will be able to rent devices for charging smartphones and mobile gadgets starting this September.

The project is being launched in several stages. At the start, one will be able to rent a power bank in the offices and pavilions of the City Tourist Information Bureau. The devices are displayed in a machine, easily recognizable due to the bright design in the style of the St. Petersburg meta brand, developed by the DDC Group agency. To rent a power bank, you`ll need to install the “Beri Zaryad!" application on your smartphone and make a payment through it.

Moving forward, similar machines will appear in places of main attractions, city celebrations and festivals, organized by the Committee for the Development of Tourism, as well as at exhibitions and other points of interest.

As a rule, the urgent need to charge one`s gadget arises at the most inopportune moment, it is especially true for tourists, therefore the Bureau will provide an opportunity to use the power bank free of payment for 30 minutes. Connecting cables with basic types of connectors will be provided together with the device. You can return the power bank to any machine of the “Beri Zaryad!” Network, which has more than a thousand points around the city.
