According to local tour operators, St. Petersburg holds a strong position in the TOP-5 most demanded destinations for the autumn-winter cashback program, and with the extension of the sales window until September 14, it may as well rise in the ranking.
Based on the information of the St. Petersburg Committee for Tourism Development, 135 organizations of the city's tourism industry participate today in the tourist cashback program: tour operators, hotels, holiday centers, navigation companies. In general, tourist trips to St. Petersburg within the framework of the cashback promotion are now offered by more than 500 travel agencies.
“The extension of the sales window for the cashback program allows those guests who have not yet visited our amazing city to finally make this decision - to see St. Petersburg with their own eyes, walk along its streets, and feel like St. Petersburg residents. And the regular fans and friends of the city on the Neva have an excellent opportunity to re-schedule a trip to us,” emphasizes Sergei Korneev, the Chairman of the St. Petersburg Committee for Tourism Development.
He also adds that the expansion of the sales window renders support to river cruise companies. So, in September, immediately after buying a cruise, tourists will be able to go on a river trip to St. Petersburg to admire the magnificent autumn landscapes of the tourist capital of Russia.
TOP REASONS TO VISIT PETERSBURG IN AUTUMN:
Experts of the tour operators "Intourist", "Russian Express" and “Coral Travel” remind you that St. Petersburg is the cultural capital, famous for musical, drama and children's theaters, concert halls.
“Check out the Mariinsky Theater play bill and you will be amazed at the number of premieres this autumn. Besides, in St. Petersburg, many organizations of culture work with the "Pushkinskaya Card", - comments "Intourist".
The Intourist experts recommend discovering gastronomic St. Petersburg and dining out in the TOP 50 restaurants, inexpensive coffee shops, stylish gastropubs or buffets where you can have a nice meal on a budget.
Coral Travel notes that in the autumn there is still an opportunity to go on a cruise along the rivers and canals of St. Petersburg, and the autumn beauty of city and suburban parks is an excellent reason for a photo shoot.
A powerful argument in favor of an autumn trip to the city on the Neva is a decrease in the number of visitors in the top museums and suburban palaces.
“This means that you can enjoy museums and explore popular sites in peace,” Multitour comments.
To this argument "Russian Express", TUI Russia and ALEAN add a few more: low prices for hotel accommodation and seasonal price reductions for excursion services.
“More vacant places in hotels, which means more choice,” - the PAC Group clarifies.
ALEAN experts recalled one more important circumstance. When entering St. Petersburg and checking into city hotels, you do not need vaccination certificates or COVID-19 tests.
