Quiz about the Patron Saint of St. Petersburg - Alexander Nevsky starts on September, 12
10 September 2021
The City Tourist Information Bureau of St. Petersburg will hold a quiz from 12 to 14 September 2021 at the Russia Travel Club - RussiaTravel.club.
12 September is the Day of the transfer of the holy right-believing prince Alexander Nevsky relics to St. Petersburg. On this day in 1724, the imperishable relics of the prince were moved from Vladimir to the monastery established by Peter the Great, now known as the Holy Trinity Alexander Nevsky Lavra. From that moment the city on the Neva got its heavenly patron, and 12 September became a special holiday.
Also this year, the 800th anniversary of the birth of Alexander Nevsky is celebrated.
On these two remarkable occasions, the City Tourist Information Bureau of St. Petersburg has prepared a quiz that will be held in the messenger of the Russia Travel Club - RussiaTravel.club.
From 12 September to 14 September, you will be able to answer 3 questions per day. On 15 September 2021, 3 winners will be randomly selected among those who answered all 9 questions correctly. They will receive ceramic mugs with the symbols of St. Petersburg.
We invite everyone to take part in the action, think of the scale of Alexander Nevsky's personality and the significance of his great victories, as well as try luck in winning prizes!
