What Made Saint Petersburg Remarkable for Journalists and Bloggers

City on Neva was visited by mass media representatives and bloggers from Volgograd, Yekaterinburg, Kazan, Kaliningrad, Krasnodar, Krasnoyarsk, Moscow, Nizhny Novgorod, Omsk, Orenburg, Perm, Samara, Simferopol, Tver, Tula, Tyumen, Ulyanovsk, Ufa and Yaroslavl.

The guests saw diverse Saint Petersburg: gastronomical, imperial and modern with its new tourist geography points, as well as family and romantic one. The main touristic product of the Northern Capital has always been its special, inimitable atmosphere. Everyone can find something in it for themselves: for some that is fashionable public places, the historical center courtyards and the suburban gardens, for some that is creative sites, modern art galleries, theaters and author excursions and for some it is enough just to feel like Saint Petersburg inhabitant for a few days: to have a famous doughnut, to admire Neva and to walk around the city which is a museum under the open sky.

While travelling, the journalists visited both the city’s classical attraction points: Hermitage, Mariinsky and Mikhailovsky Theaters, and New Tourist Geography’s objects: New Holland Island, Sevkabel Port, Planetarium No.1, Marina Gisich Gallery, DAA Design District center, Land of Forts, Nikolskiye ryady, Manege Central Exhibition Hall, Erarta Museum of Contemporary Art and other ones.

The programmes allowed to create an original image of the Northern Capital before the audience – the image of not just a city with a great history but also a modern cosmopolitan city with a variety of new interesting objects, not just a culture treasury but a world business center, a city with its own gastronomic culture combining traditional features and new trends and, what is not unimportant nowadays, a safe travel destination.

Quotes from stories and articles, published in regional media after the press tours:

«Krymskoe Ekho»: «The halls filled with, as they say now, creative content, are endless in Northern Palmyra, in Sevkabel Port alone, up to 600 exhibitions are held annually. There is something to choose from, where to go, what to get to know. Do not forget only comfortable shoes ... Saint Petersburg is a tourist city to the last street, front door and billboard. »

Tvernews.ru (Tver): «St. Petersburg is called the cultural capital for a reason - the demand for art in the city is the highest in Russia, but despite the rich historical background, the city has not frozen in its cultural heritage - it is developing.»

«Bashinform.ru», “The Culture” column (Ufa, Bashkortostan): «Saint  Petersburg is able to provide a variety of gastronomic experiences for any wallet: there are democratic crumpet bakeries in the Soviet style, pastry shops, solid author's cafes with affordable prices, and chic expensive restaurants.»

Internet newspaper Newslab.ru (Krasnoyarsk): «Saint Petersburg has long and firmly established itself on the tourist map of travelers from all over the world. But it is all the more surprising and interesting to discover its new sides and inexhaustible reserves. “A city that you won’t get tired of coming to” - this is definitely about Saint Petersburg. »

«Volga-News» (Samara): «Getting acquainted with the project of forming a new image of the Northern capital, you understand that the city is raising its status as a world-class tourist capital to a different level. »

«Komsomolskaya Pravda» (Samara): «The Catherine Palace in Tsarskoe Selo ... What the restorers managed to do with the palace is simply incredible. It is not only the interiors that have been restored here. It feels like the very spirit of empresses is still present. »

«Ulpravda.ru» (Ulyanovsk): «I have been to St. Pete many times. And every time it opens in a new way. A great city to which you want to return again and again. »

«Nizhegorodskaya Pravda» (Nizhniy Novgorod): «Enjoying the beautiful views of Saint Petersburg, museums and the unique aura of the city on the Neva, which numerous tourists are usually seeking for, is perfectly combined with enjoying the peculiarities of local cuisine. »

«Komsomolskaya Pravda» (Moscow): «It is worth coming here for the futuristic landscapes: Zenit Arena looks extremely unusual, and thanks to the western high-speed diameter, which runs right over the water, it seems that you are in a metropolis of the future».

All events were held in compliance with anticovid measures, all guests provided certificates of vaccination, which made it possible to freely visit cultural establishments and restaurants.
