Burning Bush Church
The chapel in the name of the «Burning Bush» icon of the Mother of God was built on the territory of the 11th fire department of the fire brigade of the Kalininsky district of Saint Petersburg with funds from the State Fire Service.
Architect - Borovitskaya O.V., designer - Slavinskaya I.E. It was consecrated on 27 June, 2003 to commemorate the 200th anniversary of the creation of the professional fire department in Saint Petersburg. From 2006 to 2012 the chapel was redeveloped and a church with the same name was erected on its place.
Byzantine mosaics made of smalt with images of saints fill all the external arched apertures and a mosaic «Burning Bush» icon of the Mother of God is situated at the entrance of the chapel. All mosaics were created by the professor of painting and drawing Vladimir Khvostik. In 2012 the construction of the separate belfry was finished.
