Church of the Blessing of the Most Holy Virgin and the Holy Blessed Prince Alexander Nevsky
The Annunciation Church and Burial Vault (1717-1724, architects D. Trezzini, T. Schwertfeger) is the oldest stone church in Saint Petersburg, an outstanding architectural monument of the Petrine Baroque. A.V. Suvorov is buried here, there are valuable historical and artistic tombstones of the 18-19 centuries. The exhibition has a unique collection of works created by the outstanding sculptor of the Russian classicism I.P. Martos: gravestones of E. S. Kurakina, E. I. Gagarina, N. I. Panin and others. This burial vault is rightfully called the first Russian Pantheon: members of the imperial family and many prominent politicians of the 18 century are buried here.
