Memorial plaque to the Soldiers-Liberators of the Red Village


A plaque in the Krasnoselsky district of St. Petersburg indicating the military units that took part in the liberation of Krasnoye Selo during the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945.

A granite commemorative plaque is installed on the house at Krasnoye Selo, 73 Lenin Ave. The inscription on the board reads:
“On January 19, 1944, Soviet troops liberated the city of Krasnoye Selo from Nazi invaders. The capital of our Motherland, Moscow, saluted the soldiers-liberators with 20 artillery salvos of 224 guns ... "
The memorial plaque lists the numbers of 24 military formations and units that were given the name Krasnoselsky for the deeds committed during the liberation of the city. Established in the 1970s.
