An exhibition called «The history of radio communication depicted on postage stamps» opened last Saturday, July 11, at A.S. Popov Central Museum of Communications. It was reported on the museum’s official account on the VKontakte social network. It will end on August 10.
The exhibition is reported to present the history of the invention of radio and the development of radio communications depicted on postage stamps, narrate stories depicted on stamps dedicated to A.S. Popov and his inventions, show the interpretations and decoration of stamps have changed.
One also will be able to get acquainted with the mistakes and oddities made by artists when working on their projects. For example, it was not the first radio receiver that was depicted on some stamps, events that never happened were depicted on other stamps. Enlarged images of stamps will help determine which of them reflect true events and which do not.
