Our goal is to show how diverse the possibilities of St. Petersburg are and to provide maximum information on measures to ensure epidemiological safety when traveling to the northern capital», Yulia Kuzenskaya said, recalling that St. Petersburg was the first in Russia to join the international safe travel program Safe travels.
The organizer of the city's stand at the exhibition is the Convention & Exhibition Bureau, run by the Committee, which unites on one platform the leading representatives of not only the tourist, but also related industries of the city on the Neva: Northern Capital Gateway LLC, tour operators Intourist and GrandRus Tours.
The city's exposition attracted a lot of attention of numerous visitors, including professionals of the tourism market, potential tourists and organizers of international business events. The guests of the stand could get information about the MICE industry, tourism potential, infrastructure and tourist routes of the northern capital.
On the very first day the stand of St. Petersburg was visited by the Consul General of Russia in Dubai and the Northern Emirates Oleg Fomin. He got acquainted with the exposition, talked with representatives of the St. Petersburg’s Government and the city's tourist industry. During the conversation the Consul General highly appreciated the equipment of the stand and wished the delegates of the Russian northern capital success in their work at the exhibition.
As part of ATM, a number of meetings with potential partners and international representatives of the industry were held. In particular, they were able to get acquainted with the investment potential and discuss the possibilities of establishing mutually beneficial cooperation in the tourism sector at a meeting of St. Petersburg’s delegation with the marketing director for the Russia and CIS area of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Tourism Lana Balkar and the general director of the Voyager group tour operator Natalia Novikova.
Negotiations were also held between Vice-Chairman of the Committee Yulia Kuzenskaya, General Director of the Congress Bureau Ekaterina Volkhonskaya and Director for International Marketing of the State Agency for Tourism of Azerbaijan Sevinj Zeynalova. The parties considered the possibilities of cooperation in order to attract tourist flows and business events to St. Petersburg.
In addition, the subject of launching direct flights from Dubai to St. Petersburg was discussed in detail at the meeting of Yulia Kuzenskaya with the regional director for Emirates airlines’ commercial operations in Europe and Russia Egor Plakhov. The outcome of the meeting was the decision to conduct a joint communication campaign and the implementation of mutually beneficial projects.
Arabian Travel Market is one of the leading international travel exhibitions in the Middle East for professionals in inbound and outbound tourism. In 2021 the exhibition will operate as a hybrid event: an in-person exhibition will take place at the Dubai World Trade Center from May 16 to 19, 2021, and a virtual event, including webinars and video meetings 1-2-1, will take place a week later from May 24 to 26, 2021.
