From June 12 to July 6, 2021, at the Museum of Art of St. Petersburg of the XX-XXI centuries, viewers will be able to visit the exhibition "Football as Art", where they will be greeted by portraits of world football stars created by such famous authors as Anastasia Nikolaeva-Berg, Shamil Zubaidullin, Maria Aristova and young artists from the regions of Russia. The exposition will feature paintings and sculptures made in various techniques.
Part of the FootballAsArt project will also be featured in the official fanzone on Konyushennaya Square. As part of the program, an art competition for fans "Paint a Football Player" will be held, where any participant can present their vision of a football player scoring a "golden goal", creating a design based on a single layout on the website: http://footballasart.sportsdaily.ru
The idea of FootballAsArt is to tell about football in the language of art, to reveal to the audience what is hidden behind the emotions of the winners. The project was launched in St. Petersburg in 2016 at the IIHF World Championship. In 2017, an exhibition for the FIFA Confederations Cup was held at the Angleterre Hotel, and the FIFA World Cup 2018 was opened by FootballAsArt in the State Academic Capella.
