In St. Petersburg, They Plan to Create Travel Conditions for Car Travellers

The agreement on the development of tourism by road was signed by Yuri Bogdanov, the General Director of the St. Petersburg State Budgetary Institution “City Tourist Information Bureau”, a subordinate institution of the St. Petersburg Committee for Tourism Development, the President of the Interregional Public Organisation of Auto Travellers “League of Caravanners” Andrey Artyukhov and the Acting Director of the St. Petersburg State Public Institution “City Centre for Car Park Management in St. Petersburg” Mikhail Kurdyaev.
The signing took place on September 21 as part of the 2021 Tourism Week in St. Petersburg during a working meeting at the Transport Committee, where issues of infrastructure creation and improvement for organizing car parks and campgrounds have been highlighted. The ‘Tourism Week’ was organized by the St. Petersburg Committee for Tourism Development, jointly with tourist organizations at the initiative of the Governor of St. Petersburg Alexander Beglov.
The agreement signatories pledged to jointly participate in creating favourable conditions for the development of the tourism industry in St. Petersburg, to work towards the quality improvement of tourist services, and also to promote tourist products of the city on the Neva River in the tourist market.
The popularity of caravanning and tourism by road in the structure of the domestic Russian tourist flow is growing. Tourism is becoming more individualized, flexible and client-oriented. St. Petersburg, with its infrastructure, quality of roadside service, road safety and a variety of tourist offers, has enormous potential for the rapid development of this sector.
