Art Hotel "Fort Kolesnik"
Art-hotel "Fort Kolesnik" is located in the picturesque suburb of St. Petersburg, the city of Pushkin. The unique design of the hotel and the building is made in the style of a medieval castle.
The Expoforum Convention and Exhibition Centre is a 10-minute drive from the hotel, the Tsarskoye Selo Museum-Reserve with its palace and park ensemble and the Amber Room is within walking distance at a distance of 2.5 km, and Pulkovo International Airport is 14 km away.
In 1915, on Kuzminskoye Highway, on the site where the Fort Kolesnik Art Hotel now stands, a special aviation detachment town was built. The construction was carried out according to the drawings of the architect V.N. Maksimov and was intended to accommodate the pilots of the Tsarskoye Selo Aviation Detachment and service personnel. During the First World War, airplanes took off from part of Kuzminskoye Highway and the hotel's current parking lot, providing air cover for the Imperial residence.
The Aviation Town ensemble has not survived to this day, as it burned down in 1920, and Tsarskoye Selo became the first air defense aviation base in Russia.
