One of the houses on the small octagonal Austrian Square
A multi-story building crowned with figured gables and towers, domes, tents and spires. The main vertical element accentuates the corner of the building. Built by Vasily (Wilhelm) Schaub, a St. Petersburg German, an active architect and builder of that time.The house is an example of pure Art Nouveau. It stands out for its rhythmic diversity, play of textures and curved lines, and the introduction of plant ornamentation.
