The S. P. Diaghilev Museum of Contemporary Arts was created in 2009. It houses more than 400 works of art – painting, graphics, sculpture, decorative and applied arts, photography.
The basis of the collection was a donation to St. Petersburg State University by Doctor of Art History, Professor of St. Petersburg State University Tatyana Yuryeva. An important part of the collection consists of works by representatives of Leningrad independent art of the 1960s–1980s, works by participants of the Experimental Fine Art Society, created in our city in 1981, works by the younger generation of artists who have already gained all-Russian and international fame, and a collection of contemporary foreign art.
