«Pushkar» Museum
Fort Konstantine | Kronstadt
The exhibition tells the story of the fort and the specifics of service at «Konstantine».
There you will see photos, diagrams, and plans of the fort. A special section of the exhibition is dedicated to the daily life of soldiers and officers who served at «Konstantine» in the late XIX and early XX centuries. What made this service unique, and why was the Kronstadt Fortress nicknamed «the Sailors’ Sakhalin» and «the Penal Servitude»?
Many of the exhibits were found on the territory of Fort Konstantine raised from the bottom of the Gulf of Finland. Cannonballs and bullets, coins, parts of fort mechanisms, and even a forged grappling anchor since the time of Peter the Great (such anchors were used to clear the seabed during fort construction) are among them.
One of the museum halls is a fully interactive exhibition — there are no showcases or glass barriers here. Don’t forget to take some unforgettable photos!
