Monument To Teachers
Ushinskogo ul., 6
The site for the monument was chosen symbolically: it decorates the square on the intersection of two landmark streets: Uchitelskaya (which translated means “Teacher’s”) and Ushinskogo- the founder of the scientific pedagogy in Russia.
The opening of the monument took place in October 2010 and was timed to the Teacher’s Day in Russia. Famous sculptor Andrey Gulyaev managed to convey in stone the essence of the profession. The monument is a granite pedestal crowned with an open book and open palms releasing the chicks into free flight. A whole collection of symbols and signs. The material of stele was chosen for a reason, after all, even Leo Trotskiy declared at the V Congress of the Russian Communist Youth Union: «Learn, gnaw the granite of science with your young teeth». The book is directly associated with knowledge, palms- with warmth and care and flight of young birds –with new generation brought up by teachers. The iconic stroke of the monument is the great words said by the Honored Russian teacher Konstantin Dmitrievich Ushinsky “The work of a teacher, modest in appearance, is one of the greatest works in history..."
Along with the monument, a beautiful square with red-leaf maples was created. In the square you can not only relax and take a walk, but also arrange an excellent photo shoot.
