The English Bridge is a pedestrian bridge connecting Bezymyanny and Pokrovsky Islands in the Admiralty District of the city

The bridge is named after the nearby highway, English Avenue. Since 1910, there was a five-span wooden bridge on this site, which took over the traffic load from the Egyptian Bridge, which provided communication between the banks of the Fontanka River in this area after the collapse of the Egyptian Bridge in 1905.

The modern bridge was built to transfer the heating network across the Fontanka River according to the design of engineer A. A. Kerlikov and architects P. A. Areshev and V. S. Vasilkovsky. Construction was completed in 1962-1963. The crossing is a three-span metal bridge on reinforced concrete supports with granite cladding. The metal railings, simple in design, are made using artistic casting. Spherical frosted glass lanterns are installed on vertical rods. Staircase descents are arranged at the ends of the bridge.
